Spring 2015 Faculty Book Discussion: Additional Group Opportunity!

Due to popular demand, we are offering a second Faculty Book Discussion opportunity!

Specifications Grading: Restoring Rigor, Motivating Students, and Saving Faculty Time. Linda B. Nilson2014Stylus Publishing.

In an article in the Chronicle of Higher Education on 12/2/2014, Robert Talbot writes about reading Linda Nilson’s book and the four things that he understood upon finishing:

“1. Traditional grading systems work against my goals as a teacher.

  1. Traditional grading systems perpetuate a “game-playing” approach to education.
  2. Traditional grading systems convey precious little information about student learning.
  3. Traditional grading systems screw over a significantly large group of students.”
